Straight Furrows Quilt: Circa 1900; Pennsylvania

This essentially Three Patch quilt pattern is done with a wonderful use of lights and darks to create a strong diagonal, much like a Straight Furrows. I have searched for a name for this pattern and see it called both The X quisite (sic) and A Quilt of Variety. They strike me as grandiose names for such a simple pattern, however effective it is. Front is suiting wools; back is cotton. A few very tiny holes which I do not find distracting, but one could mend them if desired. Measures 72" square. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1900.
