| Fabulous Center Medallion quilt with glazed chintz fabrics of the early 19th century probably appliqued 70 years later, circa 1900. Unwashed condition. Stunning design comprised of a variety of birds and flowers and accented by three grand peacocks. Unfortunately, we will never be certain as to why this did not get completed in the 19th century. The good news is that it was well assembled, although at a later date. Some would refer to this as a "mother - daughter" quilt. Maryland origin; measures 76" x 88". | ||||||||||
