Fleur-de-lis Applique Quilt: Circa 1870; Pa.

Fleur-de-lis applique pattern with exquisite quilting. Corner blocks and border are the same fabric; the rest of the appliques are a second material. Triangle border is a nice contrast to the curvilinear forms of the blocks. Professionally laundered. Several spots of very well done, inconspicuous darning on the brown border. It seems as though the quilt may have gotten caught on something because everywhere else, the fabrics are healthy and strong. Measures 76" x 92"; Pennsylvania origin. Circa 1870.
