| Six Point Star quilt that is exceptional in many ways. The most unusual feature is that the star is made of hexagonal pieces rather than the traditional diamond shapes. Second is that the white background is entirely mad of hexagons as well. Six point stars are far less common than the more traditional 8 points. The use of solid colors, framed by the black border also contributes to making this an outstanding piece. Quilted throughout with white thread that makes a striking contrast against the black border. Excellent condition; professionally laundered. Measures 78" x 80". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1920. | ||||||||
