Leafy Coned Silver Fir (Abies Bracteata) Plate #118 from the work "The North American Sylva..." by
Francois Andre Michaux, the American Edition published in 1857. These are hand finished Colored
engravings. The plates measure 10.5" x 7". This plate reads Pl CXVIII in upper right, Leafy Coned Silver
Fir in the bottom left, Abies Bracteata at bottom center, and Sapin Bractée at the bottom right. The
Title Page reads: "The North American Sylva; or, the Description of the Forest Trees of the United
States, Canada, and Nova Scotia, Not Described in the Work of F. Andrew Michaux, and Containing All The
Forest Trees Discovered in the Rocky Mountains, The Territory of Oregon, Down to the Shores of the
Pacific, and Into The Confines of California, as Well as in Various Parts of the United States.
Illustrated with 121 Colored Plates. By Thomas Nuttall, F.L.S. Member of the American Philosophical
