Loddiges Botanical Cabinet, Striped Flowered Hibiscus

Stripe-flowered Hibiscus, also known as Chinese hibiscus, China rose, and shoe flower (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) #963 from the work "The Botanical Cabinet Consisting Of Coloured Delineations Of Plants From All Countries..." by Conrad Loddiges & Sons. London 1817-1833, with fine hand-colored engravings by George Cooke. The plates measure 7.88" x 6.25", although they are from the fully coloured 4to edition. This plate is from vol. 10, published in 1824 and includes text page and photocopy of correct title page.

Condition: Very slight offsetting from text page in the center and binding holes along right edge, small crease 1/8" down from edge at upper left corner (see enlargement 3).
