Butterfly Orchid (Oncidium Papilio, now Psycopsis) #1086 from the work "The Botanical Cabinet Consisting Of Coloured Delineations Of Plants From All Countries..." by Conrad Loddiges & Sons. London 1817-1833, with fine hand-colored engravings by George Cooke. The plates measure 7.88" x 6.25", although they are from the fully coloured 4to edition. This plate is from vol. 11, published in 1825 and includes text page and photocopy of correct title page.
Condition: Offsetting of text page in center of image, binding holes along right edge, impurities in paper, light foxing lower right corner (see enlargement 5), very small light spot upper right quadrant (see enlargement 4). |
