Dingy-coloured dendrobium orchid or (Dendrobium squalens or Xylobium squalens) #1059 from the work "The Botanical Cabinet Consisting Of Coloured Delineations Of Plants From All Countries..." by Conrad Loddiges & Sons. London 1817-1833, with fine hand-colored engravings by George Cooke. The plates measure 7.88" x 6.25", although they are from the fully coloured 4to edition. This plate is from vol. 11, published in 1825 and includes text page and photocopy of correct title page.
Condition: Offsetting of text page in center of image, binding holes along right edge, impurities in paper, small area of light foxing near edge lower left (see enlargement 6).
