Authored by John F. Stoddard, President of the University of Northern Pennsylvania, this antique school text, “The American Intellectual Arithmetic” is subtitled, Stoddard’s Mental Exercises Designed for the use of Schools and Academies. Originally copyrighted in 1849, this edition holds an 1854 copyright and is published by Sheldon, Lamport, & Blakeman: New York. A wonderful, early school book!
Condition: The text is 168 pages in length and in relatively fine, used condition given its 149 years! Covers are paper-covered board; spine shows edge wear at top and base but binding is relatively tight; prolific foxing to pages but no rips or tears; no missing pages other than front and back end pages; pencil ciphering and pencil signatures on interior of front and back covers. |
