1930's Black Memorabilia LaDainty Skin Bleaching Tin

Measuring approximately 1 3/4 inches in diameter x ½ inch in height, this little LaDainty skin bleaching tin manufactured by Tyson and Company Perfumers of Chicago, Illinois, features the elegant profile of a woman with upswept hair.

Although presently empty, the tin at one time held 1/3 ounce of the magical cream, with primary ingredients listed as Ammoniated Mercury (!) and Zinc Oxide. The bleaching cream sold for 10 cents!

The tin is in very nice condition with only minor wear to the paint on the side edges of the tin cover - the part of the tin which obviously saw the most contact each time the lid was removed and replaced. The back of the tin is in nice condition as well and provided the user with instructions and precautions of use.
