Offered are 2 Seidlitz tins from the 1930s, each priced separately. Very rarely found, the first tin is a wonderful, R.H. Macy Department Store, New York City, New York, drug store remedy tin once contained the well-known Seidlitz Powders, U.S.P. used to calm gastro-intestinal upsets! The empty tin measures 4.5 inches wide x 3 inches deep x 1.5 inches high, and with the exception of the surface wear as noted in photos, the tin remains in wonderful condition! Quite visually appealing, the Macy's tin is painted a light blue-toned green. The lift-off cover features an attractive, stylized, scroll, cream-colored R.H. Macy label. The base of the tin retains its original dosage and directional label, and as noted, the product was "APPROVED BY MACY'S BUREAU OF STANDARDS"! The Macy tin is priced at $20.00. The second tin is an empty REXALL Seidlitz tin produced by United Drugs, Boston, Massachusetts. The tin has been protected by shrink wrapping which can be removed if desired. The tin measures 4.50 inches wide, 3.25 inches high, and 1.75 inches deep and is in fine condition with the expected superficial surface abrasions. The Rexall tin is priced at $30.00. Two wonderful tins that display very nicely! |
