Offered is a late 19thC Cased Set of Tablet Vials. Medicine kits of this type were designed to organize and safely package and transport drugs in a portable fashion. The vials are clear glass with screw caps and sport mostly complete labels which show signs of wear commensurate with their age and use. The leather case measures 9.5"L x 3.5"W, is modestly worn and is missing its top--- a testament to its use over the years. All of the 10 bottles are of the same construction with 9 having similar labels. 1 bottle label does not have a maker's source. The 9 bottles are from "The Fraser Tablet Co. - Fifth Ave. New York. Of note: there is one bottle marked POISON - (Strychnine Sulphate) and another labeled HEART STIMULANT. A neat, vintage group of early medicines made for use by the country physician. |
