Jens Quistgaard is best known for his creations in teak such as his pepper grinders and bowls but Quistgaard's other designs such as his candle holders were also very popular. Rare Mid-Century Modern Table Lamp by Stiffel, having a square white marble base supporting a brass "cage" and switch and a brushed metal pillar which supports three bulb sockets. One of the best modern design lamp Stiffel made. Retains a Stiffel foil label. Circa 1950 (newly re-wired)
Brass Compound Microscope by Camille Sebastien Nachet (1799 - 1881)*, with U-shaped base, single tube rack focus, rectangular stage, planar mirror, and mahogany carrying case. In 1851 Nachet was awarded a gold medal at the Great Exhibition for the quality of the workmanship of his instruments.
