Pierre Fourdrinier (French, fl. 1720 - d. 1758)
Copperplate Engraving on Paper.
Born in France, Fourdrinier was a pupil of Bernard Picart in Amsterdam for six years. He went to London in 1720 where he worked mainly as an engraver until his death in 1758. He was employed in engraving primarily portraits and book illustrations. Fourdrinier was also frequently employed on architectural works, to which his mechanical style of engraving was well suited. Fourdrinier is listed in Benezit, E. "Dictionnaire des Peintres, Sculpteurs, Dessinateurs et Graveurs"
