Born in Litchfield, Connecticut, Deming was a painter, craftswoman and teacher. Her artistic studies took her to New York City where she studied at the NY Art Students League, and the Pratt Institute under the tutelage of William Merritt Chase and Arthur Dow. She was singled out for her work at the 1908 NY Water Color Club, and NY Women’s Art Club. Deming’s work can now be found at the Pratt Institute as well as the Litchfield Public Library.
