Bather in Moonlight Irving Ward (American, 1866-1924) Oil on panel, signed. Ward lived and worked in Baltimore, MD where he was known primarily for his landscapes and portraits. He was a charter member of the Baltimore Charcoal Club. In 1920, he painted a portrait of Christopher Columbus, after the original by Achile Canessa, that hangs in the Chamber of Delegates of the Maryland State House in Annapolis. Ward is listed in Fielding’s Dictionary of American Painters, Sculptors and Engravers, Who Was Who in American Art by Falk, and Index of Artists by Mallett.
