Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Lazard was educated in Haiti at the Centre d’Art. He received a scholarship in 1951 to further his artistic training at the Ecole des Arts Modernes in Paris. In addition to helping to establish the Brochette Gallery in Haiti, his work was exhibited at the Zegri Gallery and Studio Museum of Harlem. Lazard is listed in "Who Was Who in American Art" by Falk.
