Vietor was born in Brazil, Indiana in 1919. He was a pupil of Henrik Mayer, Edwin Fulwider and the John Herron Art School. During World War II he was an artist for Allied Intelligence in Europe. He exhibited at the Butler Institute of American Art, the Hoosier Salon (Prizes) and the Indiana Art Club. He is represented in the Springfield Art Museum and the Indiana State Museum and is listed in The Biographical Encyclopedia of American Painters by Creps.
