This folk art interpretation of the Seal of Delaware decorated the 1912 Democratic Convention in Baltimore, Maryland where Woodrow Wilson was nominated. The addition of thirteen stars to the seal represent the original thirteen colonies. The artist, George Gerwitz, was a Baltimore designer and decorator who proudly displayed this seal in his home on Albemarle Street. |
