Rudolph Colao is a noted artist, teacher and member of several important artistic organizations, including Allied Artists of America, Artists Equity Association of New York, Hudson Valley Art Association, Knickerbocker Artists of New York, and Rockport Art Association. He has also been an instructor at the Art Students' League of New York, and The Scottsdale Artists School in Arizona. In addition, Colao has been written up in several magazines including American Artist Magazine (March 1975), Southwest Art Magazine (March 1982), American Artist Magazine (May 1982) and Focus/Santa Fe (Aug/Sept 1988). He has also been lauded for his work. At the Washington Square Art Exhibit in 1960 he won the "Grand Prize" in a show of over one thousand artists, and in 1995 he was awarded the "Excellence in Painting" prize at the Rockport Art Association.
