Stuart painted mostly still-lifes of flowers and fruit, but created the occassional genre painting as well, including “The Gondola-night”, “Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Lilliput” and “The Thames off Limehouse.” He lived in Stepney, London and exhibited at Suffolk Street, the Royal Academy, and the British Institution.
