A rare example of a cast iron garden bench in the lyreback pattern, along with a matching pair of side chairs. This design goes back to Philadelphia in the 1840's, but is usually found only as single chairs. The only other bench I have come across had a very narrow seat (see item # 1009065), whereas this example has the same generous size seat as the chairs - which are very comfortable. The bench is 32" high by 48" long by 22" deep. Chairs are 32" high by 21" wide by 22" deep...

A life size pastoral figure of a boy in cast zinc, American ca 1890, with more recent polychrome coloring. The bright colors would have been typical of nineteenth century zinc figural castings meant to impress by their realism (similarly this was the case with eighteenth century lead figures). 55" high by 16" wide by 16" deep. A few nicks otherwise excellent condition.
