Framed photogravures of palms from Odoardo Beccari's "Asiatic Palms". Beccari (1843-1920) was an Italian Naturalist and the pre-eminent authority on his subject. The photogravures were made in Florence and published by the Botanic Gardens in Calcutta in 1908. The presentation aesthetic is comparable to the (later) images by Blosfeldt. Each piece is approx. 19" x 25"; framed with conservation materials. In excellent condition.

Blosfeldt invented his own unique form of photography to capture these images the likes of which have never been surpassed.
