Pair of cast iron garden urns marked JW Fiske NY. This design is illustrated in the 1893 Fiske catalogue where it is described as the "Graystone" pattern. Urns have a harvest/ corn stork decoration on the underside of the bowl, and scrolled formal leaf design with curved upper edge applied separately to the bowl sides under a dentil lip. Pair of JW Fiske cast iron garden bench ends with new redwood slats.
Bench ends have foliate, dragon, dog head, and bird decoration with paw feet. Each end is marked JW Fiske 26 & 28 Park Place NY, which dates them to ca 1880. They have been rust-proofed and painted; slats have been shaped to fit the curved metal end supports. Bench is 62" long, 30" high and 26" deep; seat height and seat depth is 16".

Rare early rustic cast iron garden chair in the "twig"/ faux bois tradition ca 1870. Back, seat and sides are made up of a climbing branch and leaf design. Referred to as the "cottage" chair in the 1868 Fiske catalogue (cf Barbara Israel p.173 fig.4.15). 30" high, 16.5" wide, 17" deep. Old paint surface, in very good condition.

American garden wirework settee ca 1890 with scrolled wiring on arms, scrolled design on the grid of the back and the seat, webbed aprons on both the front and back legs.

Lattice and grid design Victorian wirework chairs, American ca 1890. One with square back, the other round back. Both with capped feet. Some detail missing from leg aprons. These chairs are not typical of most wirework side chairs in that they are unusually large, sturdy, and comfortable to sit in. The round back is 35" high, 20" wide and 22" deep. The square back is 35" high, 24" wide and 23" deep.

Set of four cast iron fern design garden side chairs, along with cast iron pierced top garden table, American ca 1910.
These side chairs are larger than usual, and are quite comfortable to sit in. This ensemble has had many years of use and still retains its original paint. Table is 39" in diameter, 25" high. Chairs are slightly differing sizes; 30"h x 23.5"w/ 31"h x 22.5" w/ 31.5"h x 23.5"w/ 31.5"h x 22.5"w. In good condition.

Antique V shaped cast iron urn, American ca 1890. Shaped and decorated rim over bowl with acanthus leaf design supported by fluted socle with stepped base. Urn is 28" high; bowl is 27" in diameter; base is 14" square. Has been stripped, rust-proofed and re-painted. In excellent condition.

Large cast iron garden urn with double handles marked L Dean Utica NY. The basic form of this urn goes back to a Janes Beebe catalogue of the 1850's. Larger versions with the same handles were sold in the 1890's as "Grecian Vase with handles" ( J L Mott catalogue/ Barbara Israel p.154 fig.3.19). This slightly smaller version is ca 1880.

A very nice pair of glazed terracotta finials, English early 1900's. Each has a swag design falling from rosettes at the base of the lid, and has its own variegated patina from years of being outdoors. Fine for indoor or outdoor decoration.

Gargantuan cast iron urns originally on the steps of Washington County Courthouse, western Maryland. You don't find them this big! Ca 1880; approx 52" across, 37" high, 21" square at the base. Old chipping paint, otherwise solid. Perfect for the entranceway to a large home or estate.
