Three original hand colored lithographs of American Indians by George Caitlin, published by H Bailliere New York 1842 - 1855. They are of Wah-ro-nee-sah, an Ottoe chief; Tuch-ee, a Cherokee war chief; and Mah-to-toh-pa, chief of the Mandans. Each is 5.5" x 9.5". Excellent condition. Priced individually.

These are very fine early engravings from Francis Willughby's and John Rays "Ornithology" published in London in 1678. It was the first book published in the English language on the subject of birds and one of the earliest to take advantage of the new art of copper plate engraving. Each piece is 8.5" x 13".
