Hand hammered watering can in copper with wonderful old-world character. Alistair Morris ("Antiques from the Garden" & Sothebys director) cites copper as the metal used for eighteenth century watering cans as opposed to tin-plate in the nineteenth. We can probably date this to the eighteenth century. 22" wide, 15" high, 11" wide.

Very rare piece from the Portland Stoneware Company in Maine, ca 1880. The company manufactured glazed stoneware garden fixtures, alongside its more arcane products, designed to thrive in the severe New England climate. Cast iron fountain with an egret base and scalloped bowl with putti faces on the underside. Fountain head is a zinc figure of a young boy marked "JW Fiske 26-28 Park Place NY"which dates it ca 1880. Cleaned, rust-proofed and repainted. Overall height 70", bowl diameter 40". Pitting to cast iron commensurate with age. In good condition. From a Pennsylvania estate.

Pair of JW Fiske cast iron garden bench ends with new redwood slats.
Bench ends have foliate, dragon, dog head, and bird decoration with paw feet. Each end is marked JW Fiske 26 & 28 Park Place NY, which dates them to ca 1880. They have been rust-proofed and painted; slats have been shaped to fit the curved metal end supports. Bench is 62" long, 30" high and 26" deep; seat height and seat depth is 16".

A cast iron garden bench in the laurel pattern, American ca 1920. 30" high by 42" wide by 29" deep. Many layers of old paint have been removed and the bench has been zinc coated to prevent rust and finished in a flat black enamel. In excellent condition.

French urn with graciously curved scalloped underside and foliate handles set on a large plinth each side of which features the sculpted profile of 2 beautiful women (the faces are repeated on opposite sides). In terracotta it is in 3 pieces the bowl, bowl support and plinth. Wonderfully
