A very nice antique bronze by the Spanish sculptor Joaquimm Angles (1859-1925), late 19th or early 20th century. It portrays a young shepherd who has caught the rapt attention of one of his flock of young goats by his playing of the pan pipes. This is a traditional bronze which has been extensively patinated through its use as a garden sculpture in the home of a Southern collector, something I think that adds to its charm. Signed "Angles S". 35" high by 14" by 13". In good condition.

These charming lithographs of French military uniforms were published in Paris in 1821 and executed by the Vernets and Eugene Lami. They are both historically accurate and visually compelling. Their painterly quality comes from the skillful use of the new medium of lithography, accompanied by hand color, to render dramatic rather than static illustrations. Each is 6.5" x 9.5". Some browning at the edges, otherwise good condition.
