Lithographs of ducks and geese in their natural environment by Archibald Thorburn, one of the great ornithological artists. These are from Lord Lilford's "Coloured Figures of the Birds of the British Islands", London 1885-1897. Each print is 9.75" x 6" on nice heavy stock; minor foxing is evident on some of the prints - this is visible in the photographs.

Original copperplate engravings of bats from the French and German editions of the Comte de Buffon's "Histoire Naturelle" published 1749-1778. These are on rag paper and in fine condition, each 8' x 9".

Copperplate engravings of furniture by Thomas Chippendale from his "Household Furniture in the most fashionable taste..." third edition London 1762. Some discoloration to the paper; some staining on the outer edge of sheets not intruding onto the plate. Plate size 9" x 14"; sheet size 11' x 18".

Aquatint engravings of medieval history scenes from Charles Hamilton Smith's "Ancient Costume of Great Britain and Ireland" London 1814. These are by master engravers Robert Havell (Audubon) and John Hill and have the fine delicate coloring typical of the best aquatints - a form of engraving so expensive to produce that it flourished for only a short time in the early nineteenth century in subscription volumes such as this one.
