A very nice, and functional, tramp art birdcage in three sections dated 190(5?) (only the shadow of the original numbers remains). On either side of the date are the letters L and B, possibly the maker, as well the letters A and L are centered within wreaths at the base of each of the side sections. The center section has a turret and a facia board each of which is probably missing a finial. At the head of the sections are the carved words "Palais", "Eden" and "Casino"; lower in the adjoining sections are the words "Groupe" and "Oiseaux". There are decorative appliques of stars, flowers and wreaths, and acorn and leaf motifs are carved into the wood. Overall 30" high by33" wide by 18" deep. Minor damage, some missing elements.
