| Cast iron tables are rare, with an original iron top, rarer still. Listed in the J L Mott catalogue of 1889, and the Westervelt catalogue as the "double Coalbrook table" (Barbara Israel p. 187), this table base was sold with a choice of tops, the metal top (judging by the number surviving) being unusual. Table is 36" long by 24" wide, 27" high: base is 30" x 18". A break to the connecting rod at the base has been fixed and stabilised with an iron bar welded on the underside and is not visible - this is reflected in the price. Stripped, rustproofed and re-painted. | |||||||||||||
