This vintage Mexican solid copper bracelet is truly a unique work of art. It is adorned with beautifully executed silver and brass Aztec symbols. The motif on this bracelet is of an Aztec Day symbol: Cuauhtli or Eagle. Cuauhtli is a day of fighting for freedom and equality. It is a good day for action, a bad day for reflection. A good day for invoking the gods, a bad day for ignoring them. This bracelet of mixed metals is typical of those made by Maya and her workshop, Casa Maya, in the 1960’s and ’70s. Her work is recognizable by their modernist, sometimes surreal designs, stylized pre-Columbian themes, and use of mixed metals and sometimes polychrome. This bracelet is completely hand wrought by cutting the copper and shaping it by hammering to size. The hammer marks are purposely left to add texture. The silver and brass pieces are cut by hand and soldered on to the copper. It measures 6-3/4” around the outside with an opening of about one inch. It is 2” wide at the widest point. It weighs 80.8 grams. The bracelet can be fit to accommodate a different size as long as you are careful not to bend to a dramatically different size. The artist who crafted this was very skilled because the piece is impeccably executed. It is marked, “Mexico”. It is in beautiful vintage condition with only normal wear.

This is one of the most feminine pieces I've seen like this. The colors are pink with soft green and white abstract on each of 6 links. It is very much like the Matisse enamel bracelets I've seen and in excellent vintage condition. It is circa 1950's. It is 8" long and the links are 1/2" wide. It has been well cared for as I don't note any chips or cracks or any damage whatsoever. Perfect for summer!

Here is an extraordinary bracelet that is wide and shiny and commands attention. The outside has shapes like leaves cut out from the copper outside layer. Next is wire, and then the solid copper back. This bracelet is a fine piece of vintage jewelry. It is in very good vintage condition. It measures 6-1/2” circumference with a 1” opening and 2” wide.

This bracelet is important because the enamel colors are phosphorescent and glow with an unusual depth. It looks like a Renoir/Matisse, but is not marked. It features 5 links with greenish yellow, pink, and aqua blue on a black background. The jump rings are brass and connect each link in two places. The back is also enameled, which gives it a very finished look. The copper links are very good vintage condition and the clasp is strong. There are a few tiny nibbles on the edge, but nothing really noticeable when worn. It measures about 8-1/2” around and each link is 1-1/2” X 1-1/2”. This is a bracelet that will receive lots of compliments and sure to please!

This is an extraordinarily beautiful cuff bracelet, crafted with impeccable artisan workmanship. The base is solid brass, with copper wire channel-set in perfect symmetry. It is marked with an "L", which is a mark I am unfamiliar with. This bracelet is one that is a real treasure in design and craftsmanship. It measures 1-1/2" wide X 2" across the widest span.

This bracelet is so lavishly decorated that words are really lacking to describe it with justice. It is a true Art Nouveau period piece circa 1915-1920’s. Art Nouveau was an important, avant-garde movement that appeared at the turn of the 20th century whose principle was that nature rather than the ancient classicist should be the foundation of all art. The entire surface of the bracelet is covered with opulent Art Nouveau patterns of flowers, flourishes, and in the center, a raised design of an iris. The craftsmanship on the bracelet is superb and it is still in great condition. It has a snap closure that works well and closes with a strong, “snap”. It measures 1-3/4” tall at the center of the front and tapers to ¾” the rest of the way around. It is approximately 7-1/4” inside circumference. It is an extraordinary bracelet and one that will steal the show. As with all antique and vintage jewelry, you must take care of it to preserve it as well as it has been thus far.

This handsome pendant and ornate hand-hammered chain are made of sparkling yellow brass. The chain is from my own collection, which I have had for 40 years. The pendant was cast and hand finished while the chain was formed by bending brass wire by hand and then flattening each link with a hammer. The chain is a lovely, lyrical design, and I believe from the middle east. The pendant is substantial and has a scalloped edge with an edge decorated by lines and tiny circles. The center has a convex spiral with a ground of floral embellishments with a dark patina overall. The pendant is 2-3/4” at its widest point and 2-1/4” tall, and the chain is 26” long. This is an distinctive and exotic pendant and chain that is fabulous find!

Straight from the ‘50’s comes this intricately designed copper bracelet. It has 5 links, each with an “S” coil and silver teardrop shapes atop each one. The links are connected by textured wide, ribbed links and the closure is a typical box type that still works well. The bracelet is solid copper and sterling with copper plate on the closure. It is in good vintage shape for its age - no dings, but some scratches from wear as you would expect from a piece like this that someone wore often. It measures about 7” long with clasp closed and each curved link is 1-1/4” X 1-1/4”. It is quite shiny and is very attention-grabbing!

Copper Giant Link Abstract Design Bracelet-1950's-'60's This vintage bracelet is such a large scale that no one can miss it. It has three huge links with a raised abstract that looks like a “tornado” design on each one. It’s very shiny and a captivating design for someone who is not afraid to wear striking, fashionable pieces that are always noticed. It measures about 7-1/2” wearable length with each link measuring 2”X2”. It fits a smaller wrist because there isn’t much curve to it. It is in very good vintage condition with no visible flaws. The clasp works fine with a tiny bit on wear showing on the outside. It is not marked.

These vintage earrings are the work of Marjorie Baer, jewelry designer, who has made a name by designing unusual mixtures of metals in intriguing powerful designs. She reuses some objects to combine in ways that have an “industrial” feel. She started designing when she finished school at UC Berkley, went to New York, and sold her first pieces on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum. She is based in San Francisco and signs her work, “Baer SF”. The intriguing thing about these earrings is the stair step levels that give the pieces a look of an ancient pyramid. They are very 3-dimensional because of the way she has handled the “steps” in the brass. They measure 1” square and are in very good vintage condition, but could use a good cleaning if you like them very shiny. These are clip ons.

Copper jewelry was very popular in the 1950’s and ‘60’s and this cuff bracelet is from that era. It is a remarkable design with pierced brass covering most of the copper, but with cutouts that let the copper peek through. Each cutout is a scalloped-edge circle with a brass dome in between each one. It is a simple, yet intriguing design and is quite stunning. It measures about 6” end-to-end and is 1-1/2” wide. It can be bent to fit most any arm as copper is very malleable. It is in excellent vintage condition and will grace the arm of the buyer with great panache.

Seldom seen are interesting, attractive, and well-maintained jewelry treasures such as this one. This circa 1950’s Whiting & Davis clamper bracelet is copper with brushed silver strips and is a real find. The graphic and geometric character of the design is quite stunning and very “current”. It measures 1-1/4" wide X 8" circumference. The hinge is in perfect order and still has a strong spring. It is in very good vintage condition with no damage and no flaws are visible to the naked eye.

This lavish copper bracelet is covered with gorgeous floral engraving. It is made up of five large links with three cabochon faux amber stones in the center of three links. In between the links are hinges with a ladder texture on each one. It is 8” inside diameter and each link is 2” tall. It is absolutely stunning and in great vintage condition, and the clasp works well. It is circa 1950’s.

The combination of copper and silver provide an electrifying backdrop for the blue stones in this demi-parure. The brooch is very ornate with decoration around the edge and covering the back. The center is silver reminiscent of lace with the blue square-cut stone in the middle. The earrings compliment the brooch although they are not exactly the same patterns, they look very much like it and are also decorated on the backs. These are from my own collection. The earrings are clips. The brooch measures 2”X5/8” with a rolling clasp. The earrings are 1” tall X ¾” wide at the widest point. The three pieces are in excellent condition and look stunning together.

This is a very unusual watch from the late 1970's. It looks like silver, but I believe it is nickel silver. The band is made up of 3 curved links on each side with scrolls in between. Then there are 4 other links on each end. There are also some extra links that come with it. The face looks like mother of pearl and it has a quartz movement. It works well and has a second hand. The brand is Forever. It measures about 7" long and each of the two extra links add about 1/4" each. The face is 1" in diameter. The watch is definitely a fashion piece.

Elaborate with repoussed flowers, this brass cuff hails from the 1920'-'30's and is popular style of that era. It is brass and opens with a friction clasp that works well. It is in good vintage condition and is a piece that looks great with long sleeves. It measures 1" wide and 7-1/2" inside circumference. It's an old piece of jewelry so you have to be aware when you wear it not to treat it as new costume.

This is a little copper cuff that has a step-and-repeat pattern of diamond shapes and lines etched into it. It is curved in a convex shaped to give it more depth and volume when worn. Although it looks substantial, it is really very light and comfortable. My estimate is it is circa 1970’s. It is in good vintage condition with some very minimal wear shown. (You can tell the condition from the photos). It measures 7” outside circumference with a 1+” opening. It could be worn by a woman or a man with a small wrist. It would look great with other bracelets.

“Miracle” is the trade name of A. Hill & Company LTD., of Birmingham, England, which started manufacturing jewelry in 1946 and is still the leading designer of jewelry in the Celtic, Irish, and Scottish styles today. Each piece is authentic in terms of evolving from actual historical and archaeological information. Jewelry from as early as AD600 have been found that has been used to preserve the design and character of the old Scottish, Celtic, and English legacies. This brooch is designed with a large blue stone that was probably intended to emulate chalcedony. It has a mounting that is decorated with zigzags and arrow points. It is a very authentic design as are all of the Miracle pieces and probably is Scottish in origin. It is marked “Miracle” on the back. The pin and rolling catch work well, and the brooch is in excellent vintage condition. It measures 2-1/4” X 1-1/4” and is convex so that the back looks like it is scooped out.
