This vintage, ornate Mexican sterling silver ring has a beautiful green stone that looks like art glass, bezel-set in a claw setting. The ring is adorned with a flower basket on each side and sits upon a curved, raised silver platform. The face is quite large, measuring 1-3/8” long x ¾” wide. It has the look of the old maestros of Mexico, who left a legacy of fine silver artistry and craftsmanship behind. Unfortunately, much of the history of these old pieces is not captured because during this time, silver works were sold by weight, with little credit given to the artist and his or her accomplished craft. Although it is not marked, it is clearly from Mexico and is marked, “Sterling”. The ring size is a size 7, and weighs 8.3 grams. It is very old and without other markings, dates its origin to 1920’s-1930’s. It is very well-crafted. I can see no damage except that it has been sized at some time, but it is in excellent vintage condition.
