Oil on canvas, 22" x 27" inscribed verso and titled, painted by FG. Haymes, June 1858. The work depicts a muse bathing by a pool of water in a landscape.
Watercolor on paper, framed and matted. Appr. 6" x 5" net image size and 14" x 11" framed. I would say this is a 19th C work in the early 17th C style.
Of American interest, the origins of John Cooper remain somewhat mysterious. Most of his works are found in early American homes but he was not known to have ever left England. This small work is not typical, although the details of the faces are characteristic. Approx. 14" x 11"--circa 1725. Now in a black and gold period frame from my frame collection.
