19.5" x 24.5" image size watercolor on paper laid down on board, in frame dimensions: approx. 33" x 37"--contact us for image with frame. Caribbean view. B. Major has no formal listing I can find but I have sold several of his paintings over the years. It is possible that this talented artist painted under another name and this is merely a pseudonym.
In original frame, 20.5" x 25", inscribed to the memory of Susannah Osborn, Susannah Southwick and Ebenezar Southwick, (apparently from Peabody, Massachusetts.)
In custom-made ebonized frame with corner blocks, approx. 22.5" x 45.5"--inscribed upper left, gouache on paper, en grisaille and laid down on blue paper, matted and framed. French or Italian and with date of 1854 and artist's signature, not quite legible.
