A pair of finely carved square shaped cinnabar lacquer vases. The different figures of the vase is decorated with images of scholars posed in different landscapes. Surrounding the vase are floral motifs and other geometric patterns often seen in cinnabar lacquer carvings. with carve fitted wooden bases. Some condition issues, such as crack and split. 14inches tall.

A round carved red cinnabar lacquer box; the lid with a central image of dragon amidst a cloud and waves, with floral medallions against a geometric ground; the bottom similarly decorated and supported on a raised foot rim with a recessed base 7. inches diameter and 3inches tall. Part of the rim is chip and missing. late 19th century or early 20th century.
