A finely carved bamboo brush pot Qing Dynasty, 18th/19th Century - Intricately carved and incised with precious items in a scholar's study bordered by a sixteen-character poetic incsription executed in a clerical script by Dong Ziming, the name of the the calligrapher followed by that of the carver Ruizhi, a band of auspicious bats and peaches at the rim while a lishui band encircles the foot (fine cracks, surface wear). Height 5-7/16" x 4-3/4 - 4-1/2" Oval x 7/8" thick, one piece of bamboo. Price: To be determined
