Ishimura Eiichi (1948-2012 / Matsue, Shimane prefecture), a Japanese lacquer ware artist who kept on creating quality everyday lacquer ware with no excessive decoration based on the essence of what Mingei is originally,
and known as a master of 'mehajiki' (application of lacquer to open-grained wood like Zelkova in such a manner that it is repelled by the grain, which thus remains visible.).
Very fine condition like nearly unused.
