Imported wooden tray of simple 'yosegi-zukuri' style (constructed from multiple pieces of wood) from China (Qing dynasty) in Meiji period, as it's also the one of sencha tea utensils from China called 'karamono' (lit. Chinese stuff) which were valued and mostly used by the well-informed people in Japan.
Coated in lacquer over all and fixed the yosegi construction with wire. Fine antique condition, with no major damage but some loose point as usual condition for this type.
Size: approx. Height 5.5cm (2.16in), Diameter 32cm (12.59in)
Primary material: Wood, Lacquer
