MAKIE SOUP BOWLS
A complete set of five 'suimonowan' (soup bowls) used for special occasion like 'chakaiseki' (dishes coming before the tea ceremony), with quality various makie lacquer design at backside of each lid as its refined composition (arrangement). Taisho-Showa period.
Quite sophisticated works by skillful 'makieshi' (gold lacquer master) as seen, and probably products from Wajima or Kyoto as a set made to order.
In fine condition, with slight discoloration and slight surface cracks at makie lacquer. approx. H 9.5 cm (3.74in), D 12.5 cm (4.92in)
