Traveler's 'Kamiko' (paper garment) coated with persimmon tannin, as an old unused possession of a haiku poet probably because of its owner's name like a pen name in 'tenkoku' (seal-engraving) style of the back.
Some rips at the edges for its folded condition. Meiji period, 19th century.
