| Antique Japanese Haihai (crawling baby) Gosho-ningyo, Palace doll wearing a silk bib, carved of wood and covered in fine gofun (pulverized oyster shell). The haigai were given as gifts to young children both at New Year as well on the first palanquins while traveling to serve as a protective force. Excellent condition, early Meiji period (1868-1912).
