This lovely standing crucifix was for home and also might have been taken with the family while traveling. I love the patina and verdigris! It is heavy cast bronze/brass. The figure of Christ is firmly attached with the 2 little rounds you might see on the back.I found it in Belgium, very dark with age. As I cleaned the back to try to read the impressed markings, the verdigris began blooming, so I continued to clean! I leave it to you, if you want to make it shiny and bright...

This jewelry casket is a very charming souvenir of Reims,France as you can see. It is very heavy (11 oz.)and I'm pretty sure it is pewter. There is intricate detail in the weave and roping of the basket. As well as the floral bouquet on the lid! The inside has the original blue lining, now somewhat faded with age. Two little wire rings hang as handles on each side, one has a twisted detail and the other must be a replacement. It measures 4" X 3" and 3" tall. Circa 1900. Thank you for visiting!

This amazing fine linen tea cloth or centerpiece has the most beautifully executed Italian reticella drawnwork and perfectly stitched embroidered floral designs all by hand. The embroidery stands out and is heavily stitched with precision. The needle lace drawn work is some of the finest I have seen, with intricate designs throughout. It has 3 " of hand made bobbin lace surrounding it. It measures approx. 44" in diameter...

This wonderful burl wood secret box is most unusual than others I've seen. There is a wooden insert ,seen in 3rd photo that slides out for the key to be hidden. Sorry, there is no key with it, but small keys may often be found.the This type of secret box, in the shape of books, seemed to have originated in Italy in the 1800's. The burl wood is just beautiful! I hope you can tell the solid burl, as in the lid and the applied pieces...

The embroidery and buttonholed scallops with rare little knots around were most certainly hand made by a quite accomplished artist! The satin stitching is so perfect and stands so tall. This piece was almost certainly done by a young woman for her trousseau, as the basket was often a symbol of prosperity in the marriage. Perfect for a young bride today, perhaps as a centerpiece for the vase of flowers (hopefully not carnations) her new husband just presented...

This precious piece has cherubs and chariots hand etched then painted on a domed stained satin wood box. Absolutely fabulous! I have just given it a light cleaning and leave the polishing to you if you prefer. The inside has a removable wooden piece for you to divide it in half if you prefer. It measures approx. 6 1/4" X 4 3/4" and 2 3/4" deep. In wonderful condition for it's age, with the slightest crackling across the ebonized band. thank you for visiting!

What a wonderful and rare piece in such good condition.! These are seldom found since they are meant to be passed down through families for babies christening. This fine white Swiss embroidered eyelet cotton cover would have been used with a cotton or wool pad inserted into the back side to provide warmth and support for the little one bundled inside . The front cover has rows of fine "nun's pleats" or pin tucks interspersed with rows of the embroidered eyelet trim...

This beautiful linen hanky is edged with elaborate chemical lace. Chemical lace, an imitation of finer laces of late 19th and early 20th c. is rare to find in such perfect condition. Luckily, this one was never used! Indeed it is a treasure for collectors. It measures 11.5" and is bright white...perfect for a wedding day! Thank you for visiting! !

This beautiful creamware plate has such rich detail in the two different wicker moulded and pierced designs all around the scalloped edges. It has the impressed and printed markings of the Waechtersbach Prussia Earthenware co. from 1894 to 1906. There is evidence of wear mainly as scuffs to the raised design areas(as seen in photos)...

Wonderful green leaf majolica handled dish by Schramberg dating to 1910 to 1920. It has great details with edging and veins and ruffled detail as well as the twig handle. It measures about 9" X 8 1/2" X 1 1/2" tall. It has tiniest chips to a few of the pointed spikes of the many, one of which appears to have been repaired, and age crazing. See 4th photo. These are not noticeable to the naked eye and certainly don't detract from it's beauty...

This wonderful, well used, obviously enjoyed show towel starts the day with "Gutte Morgen" (Good Morning) in German 55" X 20" It is of a finely woven linen which seems to be hand loomed, embellished with much turkey red work, though there are missing stitches, that don't seem to affect the integrity.
