I've always collected European hotel silver, but was thrilled to find this set of 4 knives (serrated) and forks by Simeon & George h. Rogers which was absorbed by Wm. A. Rogers in 1918, then Oneida in 1929. Heavy weight, and beautiful patina as expected from hotel silver!. Set of 4 knives and 4 forks. Perfect for mixing in with your collection! So extraordinary, and rare to find in such wonderful condition! Sure to outlast you!
Exceptional silvered cast metal (pewter?) frames most extravagantly designed with a royal crown corona draped with swagged tassels, cartouch, intricate floral filled urn, and acanthus leaves gracing all 4 sides. Whew, talking about rich detail! Every time I study them I see more! Of course they stand on little swirled feet. Each easel backing does not appear original to the frames...but work just fine.
I found this matched pair in a little shop near Paris...
