Precious leather song book presented by Mama on her child's First Communion, circa 1910. The lovely silver shield is engraved with initials TCC it seems. There is a beautiful hand inscription by Mama! It is in excellent condition,but the front leather could use polishing if you prefer. Measures 5 1/2" X 4". Inside the front cover framed in the watered grosgrain fabric ,surrounded by more gilt embossing, is a beautiful gilt embossed altar with a brass crucifix. Pearlized celluloid inset with a brass and possibly silver plate religious medal, this precious missal was used to commemorate a child's first communion.The fixative holding the medal to the small satin window has released but is still encased under the viewing window. Original brass locking hinge engraved IHS. Text in Spanish, printed in Argentina, with gilt edged pages. Measures 4 1/2" X 2 3/4" There are Italian and German Prayer Books available !
