| Hand embroidery, and cutwork enhance this beautiful tablecloth. Perfect for tea! It has elements of the Swiss Appenzell embroidery style. Hallmarks of the style include the deeply padded satin stitched figural work(the doves),gray marking behind the embroidery, lobed, satin stitched flowers and embroidery, as well as French sanded stitches filling the body of the birds. The antique linen is fine, medium weight, cool to the touch. Indeed, I found it in Switzerland! It measures approx. 34" square. One tiny hand repaired hole in the linen, otherwise perfect!
