| This finely burnished single strap blackware vessel comes from Northern Peru and dates c.a.1000-1470AD. It is a beautifully constructed representation of a Chimu fisherman with his paddle in one hand and a small cup in the other. He has a large wing shaped head piece and huge round ear spools. The eyes and mouth as well as the design elements on the vessel are deeply and cleanly incised. The jar measures 9" in height by 7" in diameter. His head was cleanly reattached uafter being broken during shipping. A beautiful and unusal piece for any collection | ||
