TIWANAKU POLYCHROME FELINE KERO
A striking Tiwanaku polychrome feline kero (cup) from The Southern Highlands of Peru dating ca400-1000A.D. This superb pottery vessel measures 8 1/2" in height by 7 1/2" in length and is an unsurpassed example of ancient Peruvian craftsmanship. The body of the vessel has a wide band enclosing various geometric shapes executed in black and soft tan. The raised head and rounded ears of the feline help to create an overall elegance that makes this jar a subtle and timeless work of art.
