ORIGIN: Ecuador-Coastal Manabi Provence
Age: Ca. 500 B. C. - 500 A.D.
DESCRIPTION: Two structurally identical figures cast from the same mold. Over time they have ended up in two totally different collections in The U.S. and were brought together by a very astute collector.
Figure # 1 (with the strongest paint remnants) stands 7 1/2" in height and is outrageously adorned with massive ear ornaments, a nose ring, a chin labrette, a multi-strand necklace, bracelets on both arms and lower legs, and is wrapped in a dotted wide sash from shoulder to waist most likely representing ceremonial and/or a clan symbol. Very strong remnants of the after firing pigments in green, red, and white are still evident. PROVENANCE: Lost World Artifacts.
Figure #2...is identical to figure 1 but lacks the very strong pigmentation although lighter green, white , and red coloration still remain. PROVENANCE: The Lands Beyond Time. Price: $775.00
In order to keep the pair together the combined price will be reduced to $1,500.
