CULTURE: Jama-Coaque ORIGIN: Manabi Provence, Coastal Ecuador AGE: CA. 500 B.C. - 500 A.D. DESCRIPTION: A seated dignitary or shaman measuring 9 1/2" in height. The figure is sitting on a rounded stool which denotes his high cultural position. He is ornately garbed with a pointed multi-level head piece, double ear spools, a nose labrette, a long wide necklace with a massive dangling pendant or mirror, bracelets on both arms and lower legs, and a wide knee length tunic.
