DESCRIPTION: A massive hollow terracotta seated female figure with her legs tucked under a short waist length skirt. Her right hand is resting on her waist and her left hand on her lower thigh. She has noded shoulders (most likely representing ceremonial scarification.) She is wearing large disc ear ornaments and her head wrap has crossed ties and a central crest. She is bare breasted and her face is well defined and highly expressive with beautiful well formed eyes. Faded black pigment is evident above her eye area. She has been reassembled from approximately eight large pieces with restoration over the break lines. A stunning example of the type!
